Jessie Kol CD Shoot (Music Photography)
Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 9:15PM Much like Morgan Bracy… I think Jessie is another face to watch in these parts. She’s a jazz singer who sings way beyond her years. Check her out here.
She was referred to my via Anadara Arnold who’s CD cover I shot last year. As a matter of fact, if you go to anadara.com, you’ll see the cover I shot.
Back to Jessie. If you’ve not heard her, I urge you to take a listen. She’s a young talent with a really mature voice. As an ex-musician myself, I can really appreciate the smoothness in her voice in tandem with lovely phrasing and a laid-back demeanor. Her husband, Perry, is very supportive and has attempted to surround her with talented musicians and creative professionals to help get her career off the ground. I’m sure it’s going to happen.
We met in Nashville and shot mostly in and around the Shelby Street Bridge… a great area with a ton of great shooting locales all within walking distance. I especially enjoyed the end of the evening when we got some killer shots with the city lights blurred out in the background.
I’ve included a few behind-the-scenes shots taken by Perry to give you an idea of what goes on during my shoots. In general I keep it pretty simple and aim for maximal artistic merit within minimal means.
BIG FUN… Good luck Jessie!
