Personal Stuff - My Lovely Family (Baton Rouge Family Photographer)
Friday, July 30, 2010 at 10:38PM It’s not often that I put my own family in the spotlight. I thought, however, it might be nice to give everyone a glimpse into who they are and what they are about. I’ve got three (yes 3!) kids and a lovely wife who all go to great lengths to withstand my artistic “sensibilities”.
We recently took a trip to Natchez Trace State Park. It’s a great park that’s about 30 minutes from Jackson, Tn… where my in-laws reside. Well… I don’t consider them in-laws because they love me and my family so much. They truly are a second set of parents. We all spent a few days swimming, riding, hiking, camp-firing, and whatever else you can think of to do during the summer at a state park.
I spent a lot of late, late nights by the water’s edge… photographing… and contemplating the nature of life’s twists and turns. There is something magical about being out in nature in the middle of the night. It really puts into perspective how small and fragile we all are… and how our place in this world, individually, isn’t quite as large as we think it is. It’s kind of spooky too, lol.
Enough philosophy. Take a gander at our wonderful earth… and my even more wonderful fam. God knows where I’d be without them…
Ian… my youngest
Tabitha… give her older brother the treatment.
Simon… our oldest.
The coolest Father-in-law in the world.
… and the coolest Mother-in-law!
my better half… Alicia.
Ian lost a battle with some concrete steps… resulting in a “colorful” forehead.
some late night work

FYI… we are NOT in the government witness protection program. My wife and kids wear sunglasses all the time because they are so cool, lol!

Hi Shelby! LOVED these photos. So great to see the family having a good time and in such a beautiful setting. You'll have to explain to me some time how you get some of your photo effects! Love you guys! Sherry
Man... the combination of an amazing camera and an amazing photographer results in some seriously stunning pictures. Nice, nice stuff you have here. Wish I could've been there, it looked fun. Take care my uncle.
I love them all, but the one of your father-in-law is incredible!
